The piles that were designed to form the retaining walls consisted of GeoJet units (soil-cement piles with steel inserts).  Models of existing soil layers were made with provisions for design earthquakes.  The retaining walls varied in height from 8 ft to 24 ft and were designed with none, one, and two soil anchor tie rods.
